GoodFood Enterprise

What was built.
The problem.
GoodFood Enterprise had a strong in-person presence selling premium frozen seafood and specialty foods across KwaZulu-Natal, but no digital footprint to match. They needed an online platform that could function as a sales engine, a product showcase, an information hub, and a lead capture tool — all within a limited budget. The challenge was delivering a high-quality, fully functional e-commerce experience without compromising on design or usability despite the financial constraints.
How it was solved.
Working through Monkey & River, I designed and developed the GoodFood Enterprise website using WordPress, Elementor, and the Flox theme — a combination chosen to deliver a polished, app-like experience within the project's budget. WooCommerce was configured to handle the full product catalogue, spanning seafood, Asian, dairy, desserts, Mediterranean, pastries, and ready-to-cook ranges, with clearly organised categories making browsing intuitive across all devices. Payfast was integrated for secure local payment processing. The design was built mobile-first throughout — prioritising the browsing and purchasing experience on smaller screens to match how GoodFood's KZN customer base actually shops. Contact options, a wholesale and foodservice section, and a recipe hub were all incorporated to serve different audience segments and support email marketing list growth.
What it achieved.
The launch of the GoodFood Enterprise website successfully established the business's online presence, opening a new sales channel alongside their in-person store. The platform drove a measurable increase in sales, extended their reach across KwaZulu-Natal, and created an effective mechanism for lead capture and customer communication — giving a business with strong local roots the digital foundation to grow beyond them.
