Chargo

What was built.
The problem.
The Chargo Group of Companies is anything but simple — spanning boutique lodge accommodation, a game reserve, a farm stall with both an online and in-person presence, KFC franchises, and petrol stations across multiple regions. The owner needed a single, cohesive website that could market all of these businesses clearly without overwhelming visitors, drive accommodation bookings online, and handle inquiries across every arm of the group. The added complexity came from integrating an existing WooCommerce store with the physical in-person shop, and building a contact form flexible enough to route inquiries to the right business every time.
How it was solved.
Working through Monkey and River, I led the development of a fully unified WordPress site that organises the Chargo portfolio in a way that feels seamless to visitors. Accommodation listings for the Merino Inn, Boutique Lodge, and Game Reserve were built to encourage direct bookings, while the WooCommerce integration bridged the gap between the online store and the in-person farm stall. A custom, complex contact form was developed to intelligently accommodate inquiries across the group's various companies, ensuring the right people received the right messages. The design reflects the heritage and warmth of the Chargo brand — rooted in the Karoo, built for modern audiences.
What it achieved.
The Chargo Group now has a single, professional digital presence that represents the full breadth of their portfolio — from record-breaking buffalo to curated meat boxes delivered to your door. The website gives each business its own voice while maintaining a coherent brand identity, positioning Chargo for continued growth across all of their ventures.
